We are looking for two additional anaesthetists (one permanent and one locum cover) to join our anaesthesia team to support a rapidly growing referral case load in Derby, UK.

Pride Veterinary Centre is a large, extensively equipped state-of-the-art hospital offering specialist services in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging (including on-site MRI and CT), internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, neurology, and ophthalmology, as well as cardiology and dermatology departments. The hospital has five surgical theatres, 3 ultrasound rooms (one cardiology) and two endoscope towers. With a dedicated night team we provide 24/7 patient care. The Centre is the flagship small animal hospital for the Scarsdale Veterinary Group, a multi-species practice employing over 250 staff across 10 sites. The group works closely with the University of Nottingham, accommodating student rotations through various disciplines. This offers a unique environment to work in a private small animal hospital and having exposure to the academic side of specialist veterinary work.

The hospital is located in the Midlands, near the Peak district, with stunning walking, climbing and other outdoor pursuit opportunities. Derby has one of the country's most diverse selections of real ales served across a collection of unique pubs. The area is within easy reach of road, rail and flight connections. The practice is well placed to offer an exciting career with the ability to live and relax in enjoyable surroundings.

The Anaesthesia Department currently comprises of four Diplomates (three ECVAA and one ACVAA), one ECVAA residency-trained fellow and two anaesthesia interns. The department is supported by a team of experienced theatre nurses. Interns and students from the University of Nottingham rotate through our service regularly.

Very attractive salary and CPD packages with generous holidays are available dependent upon experience. Preference will be given to those who are Diplomates of the ECVAA or ACVAA, but candidates who have completed college-recognised residencies in anaesthesia would also be considered. We welcome both part-time and full-time applications. The position will be open until a suitable candidate is recruited.
