Wear Referrals is keen to recruit a boarded ECVAA or ACVAA anaesthetist to lead our Anaesthesia and Critical Care service. Wear Referrals operates from a newly built, state of the art, multidisciplinary referral hospital in the North East of England.

The Anaesthetic Service is supported by multiple services in the specialities of soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, neurology, orthopaedics and cardiology. We also run a 24 hour emergency and critical care service. We strive to achieve clinical excellence within a working environment that promotes and cherishes collegiality and communication.

Our on-site diagnostic imaging facilities currently include, 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16 slice Siemens Somatom Emotion helical CT, digital radiography, C-Arm fluoroscopy, GE Vivid ultrasound and Sonoscape S9 touchscreen ultrasound.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and leadership skills. Candidates should be ECVAA or ACVAA boarded. The successful candidate should organise and develop the anaesthesia team alongside the other disciplines.

We offer an extremely competitive salary with employer’s pension contributions and a large CPD allowance.

We are based in County Durham close to the historic University City of Durham. The beautiful Yorkshire coast and two national parks (including the Yorkshire Dales) are within half an hour’s drive. The vibrant historical cities of Newcastle, York and Leeds are also nearby. Both Durham Teeside Airport and Newcastle airport are within 35 minutes from the new hospital and both offer domestic flights with rapid connections to major international airports in London and Amsterdam.
