The Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Catholic of Valencia University is a multidisciplinary referral Centre opened in March ‘14 and the only exclusive referral Teaching Veterinary Hospital in Spain.

The successful applicants will join an established anaesthesia and analgesia service a European Board Certified Specialist, an ECVAA resident and a general rotating intern. Job duties include providing clinical service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (including emergency services), teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, developing a research program and contributing to extension and continuing education programs.

The successful candidates will have:

  • A DVM or equivalent degree
  • ECVAA or ACVAA Diplomate or successfully completed an ECVAA or ACVAA residency program
  • Good teaching skills
  • Good communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Fluent Spanish (spoken and written) is a requirement.

The position includes normal working hours and out-of-hours emergency service, six weeks annual holiday and two weeks allowance for CPD. The off clinics time is one week every 5 weeks.

Hospital facilities include 7 anaesthesia machines, one prep room, two operating theatres, a 16 slice Siemens CT, top-of-line ultrasound with high frequency linear probe for locoregional techniques, Siemens C-arm fluoroscopy with cardiac software and digital radiography and a endoscopy room.

We have an excellent team, experienced interns and good working atmosphere. Anaesthesia clinicians work alongside other specialists with 8 European or American diplomats, two board eligible specialists, nurses and interns.

The hospital is located in the City Centre of Valencia. It has good connection to airport, road and rail links.

Valencia is a the third biggest city of Spain located in the East coast with a nice Old City called “El Carmen” and beautiful beaches and mountains. It has a great weather and the origin and the best “paellas”.
