We provide out-of-hours anaesthesia service for both referral as well as first opinion emergency cases, which results in a rather varied and interesting caseload. Good back up is provided during the first months of employment.

Journal clubs, tutorials and lecture presentations are regularly held in all aspects of anaesthesia, analgesia and other relevant topics.

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the education of our master students, not only in their practical skills but also in advancing their veterinary knowledge by providing tutorials to small groups of students (teaching and communication in English is not a problem).

You are a veterinarian with an EU-recognized diploma and have (ideally) gained some experience in small animal veterinary medicine. We are looking for a motivated, conscientious candidate with good communication skills, who likes to work in a team and shares our objectives of providing the highest quality of patient care. Fluent English (both spoken and written) is mandatory, learning to communicate in Dutch is highly encouraged.

Conditions of employment:

We offer a position for initially one year, ideally starting in September 2019, with the possibility for prolongation with another year if the position is filled to the satisfaction of both parties.

The gross salary is in the range of € 2.476,- to a maximum of € 2.717,- per month (scale 10 Dutch Universities). The salary will be supplemented with an ‘out-of-hours’ allowance, a holiday bonus of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3% per year. In addition, participation in a good pension scheme is ensured. For further rights and conditions the applicant is referred to the extensive Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
