We are looking for a qualified veterinary anaesthetist to permanently join our growing team at Pride Veterinary Centre. We welcome applications from ECVAA or ACVAA Diplomates and from residency trained veterinary anaesthetists.

Our team consists of three Diplomates (two ECVAA and one ACVAA), one residency-trained fellow and two anaesthesia interns. We are a young team and enjoy working together. The department is supported by a team of experienced theatre nurses. We provide a high standard of care through a great working relationship with other departments.

As a clinician you will be involved in the day to day clinical tasks of anaesthetising patients, assisting other departments with analgesia and critical care, and participate in the out of hours rota. We see a wide variety of interesting cases as Pride offers specialist services in anaesthesia and analgesia, medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, neurology, (interventional) cardiology, oncology and dermatology. The hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team. We work closely with the University of Nottingham and students rotate through our department every week.

We run weekly anaesthesia tutorials and journal clubs, the hospital has a weekly clinical club on many different subjects, frequent M&M rounds and offers regular in-house CPD.

We are located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network. Derby train station is a 5 minute walk from the hospital. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. The beautiful Peak District is just around the corner.
