Welcome to the official website of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Text

The European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) is the central authority regulating and certifying the standards of Specialisation in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Pain Management (analgesia) in Europe.

Specialist veterinary anaesthetists play a key role in anaesthesia and analgesia in all animal species and bring a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology to the practice of anaesthesia.

Veterinary anaesthesia specialists collaborate closely with colleagues in other disciplines, such as surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and critical care.

All ECVAA Diplomates and Residents are invited to contribute to the FVE Position Paper "The contribution of the veterinary profession to pandemic preparedness".

You may send your comments on the document (click here) by indicating the line numbers and your associated comment. Then email it to ecvaa.secretary@gmail.com before 13th October, so we can incorporate it and send an official reply to EBVS.

The FVE position paper outlines the ongoing contribution of the veterinary profession to the prevention and control of animal and zoonotic diseases and draws recommendations for decision-makers on the recognition of veterinary expertise on One Health and pandemic preparedness for the future.

The Veterinary Public Health and Sustainability Working Group, on behalf of the FVE Board, will compile your suggestions to improve the paper. This is your best chance to influence and contribute to the paper, and we will do our best to find the optimum wording from all the comments provided.

Past President, ECVAA
